I had the same problem and I too hated the procedures but when they do them they know that there is nothing worse other than abnormal cells or in transition. So better that than cancer right. Anyway after having that same thing for a few years and having to get a pap every 6 months just to be sure I was put on a low hormone birth control pill and the abnormal results ended. Hope this helped.

HPV is causing the abnormal pap. Sometimes a second surgery is needed, but I never heard of anyone having more than two. There are many different types of strands of HPV, so possibly you are getting a different strand each time. Make sure to have protected inter-coarse. Men carry the HPV virus, however they have no visible effects. There is no medication. I would recommend getting a second opinion and even have them perform another PAP before starting the whole procedure again.

Usually HPV will go away on its own after some time. It's best to always have the biopsy after an abnormal PAP. You can always ask your doctor to do a HPV DNA test to determine exactly which strand you have. Certain strands are less invasive than others. It is possible that over the years you contracted different types of strands. That could be a reson that the tests have been abnormal for quite some time now.
