How about "How to write a speech"? I'm only half kidding because he could list the requirements for the speech, go through the possibilites that he considered and discarded and why, how he asked other people, how his sister put it on Yahoo answers, got a suggestion, he assembled his notes, and voila! A speech! It would probably amuse the audience and (if permitted) he could bring in props of discarded ideas, such as the iron and a scorched piece of cloth to prove that he couldn't tell you how to iron successfully.

Alternately, he could do a funny discussion of how a man could ask for directions-- the old stereotype of "men won't ask for directions, so here, gentlemen, I will explain how it is done."

Or explain how to walk and chew gum.
Good luck, and let us know what he comes up with!

He could do a funny one on "how to write a six-minute speech". He could talk about getting the materials ready, waiting for ideas to come, asking his sister for help, etc. Then he could talk about how he read it aloud for practice, and it only lasted one minute! And so on and so on.

If he tells you he doesn't know how to write a six-minute speech even if the topic is given to him, I guess you'll have to give up on him.
