Absolutely not! You should never quit doing anything for any reason except your own. It's not even fair for your friend to ask that of you. If she wants to quit an activity, that's her prerogative, but she has no right to ask the same of you, especially, if she knows it's something you enjoy.
Your friend sounds a bit insecure, and maybe a bit immature as well. I would say to any friend that asked such a thing of me, " If you're the kind of friend to me, that you expect me to be to you, you will understand that I need to do as I wish, just as you do." Life is full of tests between friends. don't let this test drag you under. Do what you love in life, it only comes around once.

NO. If you enjoy this activity or club, why should you quit, just because she did? Do not let your friend do your thinking for you. Make your own decisions. What kind of friend can she be if she only likes you when you do what she says? Think. For yourself. It's your life. You didn't tell her to quit this activity, she chose that for herself. You can make choices too and your choices don't have to match hers. Good luck.

Everyone likes to feel equal to everyone else.It means some try to lift others up.,and some need to drag others down.Do your best to encourage this person even if they do quit . try to get her to work at ANYTHING till she has even the smallest amount of success and lavish on the praise and friendship. On the other hand refuse to cave in to anything less than you are!
WE as answerer's assume this is something socially acceptable

Tell her no, you're not going to quit something just because she does. Ask her where did she get the ridiculous idea that you should?

are you a quitter?
if she jumped off a cliff, would you follow?
you are your own person, sounds to me that your friend has some insecurities with failure and is looking to make herself feel better by not being the sole person that likes to fail.
your friend needs to learn on her own on how to be a winner through accomplishments and hard work, and foremost...not to be selfish to bring others into her circle of failure for her personal gain.
