How do you install fonts on Macs? Are they all compatible?

Question

I found an amazing font for my friend to use… except, they use an iMac. Will this stop them in anyway from using it? And is it actually compatible? (It’s a .ttf).

Also, if it IS compatible… how do you install it on a Mac? I know for Windows it’s X:\WINDOWS\Fonts.

And sorry, I don’t know what version of Mac they use.

Do a google search for 'Advance Typography with Mac OS X Tiger' and download the PDF file.
No clue if it would be compatible.
