A Fredericksburg man is facing several assault charges after police say he hunted down a group of Republicans and confronted them in their home over their beliefs.

Police said Andrew Stone, 23, recently went to a home in Fredericksburg at around 5:30 p.m. after he saw a name and nearby address on a Republican Web site.

Stone confronted three residents about their political viewpoints, police said. When he found out the residents supported the Republican-led war effort in Iraq, police say Stone became enraged.

Stone then hit the homeowner and his roommates several times as they tried to force him out of the door, police said.

Stone faces three counts of assault and battery.

Because Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Because many can not accept the fact that they are the ones who can not tolerate people and their differing views. They constantly try to label Republicans as that and more, but it is them as well. I think there are radicals on both sides. I am a conservative, but I can appreciate what people think and say, as long as it is a thoughtful exchange, rather than bullying....

Anyway, I am a firm believer in the Second Amendment, I own quite a few guns, am a licensed hunter, NRA member, etc...If some psycho came into my home and tried to assault me...he would have a gun in his face. Call me crazy if you want, but that's just unbelievable...

Mob rule, just about each insurrection or violent protest has been perpetuated with the aid of liberals and what's so unhappy approximately it rather is even nonetheless there have been no rapes, no murders, no thefts, no looting, no craping on police autos, etc etc at TEA party activities as there have been/are at ows, they're going to nevertheless declare the TEA party is violent and the ows isn't.

You're painting with a very broad brush. One crackpot liberal does not equate to all progressive minded people. And by the way, you know, you can have conservative views on certain issues and be progressive on others. That's the problem with having to identify oneself with one party or the other. For instance, a mother might be pro-life but at the same time be in favor of raising the minimum wage or a system of universal health care. Just something to think about my friend.

Darn! I guess all us liberals shouldn't have chosen him as our group-appointed spokesperson then!

Oh, wait. We didn't.

EVERY group has got its extremists. If you look at the extremists as representative of the entire group, you're going to have a pretty twisted view of life.

There are wackos on both sides of the aisle, let's face it. We would appreciate it if you wouldn't make a false generalization like you just did.

That question is way too generalized. There are extremes in both liberals and conservative, i.e. the people that bomb abortion clinics while claiming to be conservative, that is pretty violent to me. I think that people are passionate about their beliefs and some may be prepared to Fight for them. That would be true for both conservatives and liberals.

I have no doubt he was taunted. I know how you all can get. I had a girl once all in my face because I voted Democratic. And, one incidence does not mean we can lump and entire political group and generalize it.

And you believe this because it was in the "Liberal" media?

By definition, every criminal (except drug use and prostitution) is a conservative, putting their own needs above those of another or society. The basic bedrock of conservatism.
