The manner in which your question is put requires a yes answer only because on the American side, one is able to see the beauty of the open green lands of the parkway devoid of development versus viewing America from the Canadian side which is nothing but factories and total development.

Niagara Falls is one of my favorite places in the whole world! The Canadian Side is a much more beautiful and interesting place to visit. You can see the spectacular view of both, (actually all three if you count the Bridal Veil) Falls, and there are so many interesting things to do--the Cable Car over the Whirlpool, the beautiful drive down the parkway from Ft. Erie to the falls, the Maid of the Mist, Queen Victoria Park, all of the touristy stuff (carnival atmosphere) and museums on Clifton Hill, all of the Towers with their spectacular views, the journey behind the falls at Table Rock, the casino, the Great Gorge Trip. Don't misunderstand--the American side has its pluses also, one being what you mentioned--a view of Canada- but you really cannot see the waterfalls so well from there.. However, you can get up closer to the water via Goat Island. See both sides if you have time!

Canadian side, not only do you get a better view of the famous horseshoe, but also you get to see the American falls better as well. Also if you go, travel down river and you get to see the whirlpool as well, which is also nice to view.
Until I went with my family I did not know that there was two different falls, one American, one Canadian.
If you really want an experience you will never forget take a helicopter tour over the falls it is the best.

I see Niagara Falls everyday when I go to work. I live in Canada and wouldn't want to see it from any other way. The Horseshoe Falls (canadian falls) look cool at night with all the different colour lights. The american falls aren't that spectacular. I've seen cooler looking ones in Hawaii on Dog the Bounty Hunter.

NO, the Canadian side of the falls is better because it is pretttier,, better landscaped, and has more activities at and around the falls area.
