Yes, the show is 100% scripted.

Yeah! they find out if they're goin home or not a long time before recording the show, so it gives them time to plan a way to make a fool of themselves in order to get attention in front of the whole nation. It's just like Two-a-days. All the cheerleaders plan some sort of drama hoping to be the stars of the show. Same with Laguna Beach, The Real World, The Hills,etc. America's ideas of reality shows are not exactly what I would call reality. It's all an act for money.

Alot of it is scripted. Even the auditions have pre-auditions to determine who will actually get to show off for the judges. It's all about ratings, so they do what they can to keep theirs up

NO! american idol is real.If they feel like arguing they do! and why would they tell them before the show then it would be no fun for them!

no, but i think they announce the winners before the shooting so its not like too too emotional and they dotn start like groveling on stage or sumthing

well, i guess the singers can like rehearse what to say and how to react but not really...
