The best way to take care of rust is to never get it. After you skate, wipe them off with a skate towel. A hand towel works fine, the only dif is the size. once dry, use skate guards. I like the plastic ones because you can walk with them, but the cotton ones will absorb the moisture as well.

keeping your blades dry is the key.

If you do have rust, steel wool is cheap and easy for any project. Get the fine stuff, it leaves a smother finish and rougher metal is more likely to retain water in the scratches and rust again.

For those of you who are saying their are cheap skates this guy has, you are sadly mistaken. Te may actually be rather expensive skates. The reason they rust is due to a carbon blade which is different from other kids of blades. If sharpening the skates does not get rid of the rust, you should be able to use either a stone from your local pro shop or a small piece of steel wool. If your still having problems with rust, try using a cotton skate guard. It will absorb the water and stop your skates from rusting. Hope this helps!

Get a skate sharpening, they will take the rust off. I ignore my skates for days and they do not rust. It you are serious about hockey and you are using some cheap skates, I suggest buying a new pair but if its just something you do for fun, a skate sharpening should do.

just about every ones skates has rust on the top of the blade it probably won't affect the skate but if you are really concerned about it rubbing it off with some steel wool may help

depends where if its at the bottom of the blade when u go and get then sharpened the grinder removes the rust but where the grinder doesnt go u can use a stone. not just any stone but the ones that they sell at ur pro shop used to give ur blades a quick sharpen and remove little defects

I kid you not - the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It will take the rust off without damaging the blade. And you can get one for about $1.00 in the cleaning supply aisle of a Walmart.

I play hockey and I've had that happen to myself too, and it is maddening! Anyway, just take your skates in for a sharpening, that'll take care of that old rust! *smiles*

First off if you don't know how to get rust off your blades, or if you're letting your blades get rusty you are not a hockey player. Get them sharpened.

Not a good idea if for human use: for the value, buy a new one. IF it is in a device that can be used for hobbies or something, you could try emery paper, or fine steel wool.

$250 skates? What a waste. If you can't take care of them, stay off them. Ever try sewing?
