I would be their friend if I was dating them. ;-)
I would respect them by how the are inside and how they treat people.

How come i would be their friend or respect them? I am friends with my friends and respect them because i love them and that comes unconditionally. Do you need to ask how to be a friend? Don't you have friends? You would treat her like you would treat any other friend. Yes, there are those in society that respect showgirls. In fact, showgirls get more respect than that of a "stipper". But respect of society has nothing to do with personal friendships.

Everyone does what they can to earn a living. Too many people judge and asses someone on what work they do.
I was once in a girlie bar in Thailand. I told this girl ( yes a prostitute by western definition I suppose) that for a technical reason I maybe would not be able to fly home the next day and I didn't have any more money to stay in Thailand so was not sure what I was going to do. She said I could come and stay with her and her friends and they could feed me until I could get money sent from England she even said she get a taxi to the airport and if I could not fly we'd get a taxi back to her home. We had met only 15 minutes before.
How many people have such kindness in their hearts for a total stranger?

Morals vary from person to person. She has no control over how some family members may feel about the subject.
Stripping is a legal way for young women to make money (sometimes a lot of money) for very little labor. They do not touch the customers. They have to be comfortable to dance in public (they are often proud of their bodies and keep in excellent health).
To many people it is just a job like any other. I have personally known several young women who paid their college tuition by stripping.
To others it is immoral and indecent . Whether it is out of jealousy or conservatism many people do not like the idea of exposing the body or encouraging sensuality.
Still others argue that it is closely linked with illegal activity prostitution. Those choices are up to the individual. The official stance is that it is dancing only, and the security is there to keep the girls safe and comfortable. A woman has to be careful when she picks her friends.
I have heard it argued that the money is in compensations for putting up with the social stress. Family often disapproves. Boyfriends sometimes violently disapprove (even ones that start dating AFTER knowing her profession). Invariably there are shady customers and shady bosses to deal with. It can often be tough to make and keep friends outside of the business. In my case, we usually get a group of friends together and go support our stripper friends.
Ultimately it is her choice.

Society puts a lot of pressure on who should be your friend and who shouldn't. I think a friend is a friend when they don't care about what you do but who you are inside. I know it is hard to find a friend when they know what you do and that embarrasses them but really if they know who you are all of that should not matter.
I have many friends everywhere and I try not to judge them. If someone judges them I may bring a bit of perspective. Some times people get it and some times people make me beat the f*ck out of them but at the end they start to respect so they can be respected.
I am not everywhere so make sure you are not embarrassed of yourself and those who care about you will show it by hanging out no matter what.......be careful of guys they may be deceiving to get laid!!!!
Good luck girl!!

I know and am friends with one Woman who used to be a Stripper. I don't think bad of her. It was just something she did to put food on the table for her kids. As far as I know her family/friends respected her.
Can't talk for Society as a whole though.

The job they do its not a descent job... but its a JOB!!! If that is the only way they can earn some money... why care?? No one should be ashamed of any work... so everyone has to respect them... at least they are not stealing... think how would you feel if you were in their situation???

Though showing your breast or suck is not a respectable job Id still respect them because our jobs are not our lives and sometimes not what we really want anyways. Family and friends might not respect them though because in their eyes its a waste of their lives and they cant understand were they went wrong and/or why theyre doing what they are.
