And the news!!!! Why don't we just put a moritorium on it and get on with it..... it would be so nice!!!
How can we bring peace if we do not value it in our homes? In our own country? It seems so inconsistent.

The answer is to not watch the things you find (and rightfully so) offensive! If more people did this they wouldn't have a market for it!

If you can't tell the difference between real violence and TV violence, then the problem is you, not the TV programming!
TV has been the same for decades now, going all the way back to the old Shoot em up Westerns, but all of the wars and crime spurs are pretty recent developments. If TV was to blame, wouldn't this problem have existed for a much longer period of time?
People like you need to accept responsibility for their own lives and actions, and stop trying to blame TV, music and video games for all of the worlds problems!

Yes, the war will end when we have a new president. As for TV, I do agree that things have gone too far, especially programming that is targeted for the younger audience. But violence on TV has absolutely nothing to do with the war we are in right now and changing what we watch won't end the war, only a new and much better President!

The human race has been fighting each other since time began........Cain and Able
Televisions have an on off change programs button
The News informs and alerts us to not only violence which is happening in our and other countries but also of great achievements and happy times.
It is up to the individual to instill moral values and peace to others by our own example.

When you are called Blair you must make sure you cover your back at all times.

Think about it he has sat at home reading revues of himself and thinks what can I do to get round this lot . Eureka ! he says I will pull all the soldiers out of Iraq that way people will like me again and I can get them all thinking of congestion charges then I will be remembered as a great Statesman and perhaps Public wont want to charge me with Mass War Crimes.

Oh Blair how wrong you are.

101 British Soldiers Dead .
Countless injured
Hundred of thousands of other people, All Dead.
Close on a million injured

Chilling that isn't it.

You're saying you want to sacrifice freedom for the sake of peace even though the freedom you are taking away has no causal relationship with the violence you detest?

With all due respect, that doesn't make sense.

Television doesn't do anything to grown people. No ones going to go pull out a machine gun after watching Rambo. The only ones affected are little 6 year olds that don't know any better!

The Candians watch as much violence on TV and in the movies as the USA, and yet their gun crime is a fraction of what it is in the states.

Its society in general, i don't believe that what we watch ultimately makes us more or less violent people.

The news brings home the horror of it all and enlightens us. If we are isolated from it, well out of sight out of mind.

As for regular TV way, way too much sex and violence. I have stopped watching the regular nets. and watch food net. ,History Channel, A & E and that sort of thing.
