This is just a small sampling of some of the questions I see out here.
Is it just me, or is it extremely sad and disappointing that in this day and age, young girls are still seeking external validation and are ASKING if it's ok to feel a certain way? And that they're still buying into gender-appropriate interests?

I agree with you; but remember that self-confidence takes time to build.
The whole gender role thing and not taking responsibility for ones self and not asserting their right to be respected is really dismal. Being feminine is fine; but be your own personal warrior and understand that no one can treat you badly unless you allow it - wish they'd get that concept down. Sorry if this sounds like a generalization; I know that many gals have some serious balls - good for you!

Sadly, some girls are. But most aren't, and even if they sound like it sometimes, there's usually more beneath the surface. People are insecure though...and no wonder, we're constantly being judged.
