but its not e. mail or a mess. ?? what else would cause this please ??? i feel like i`m missing out on something ??

It is the popup blocker. The one that you are using, has an option, where you can uncheck the "make sound" or not. Go into your program, and uncheck that box and you will not hear it any more...Good Luck..

Control Panel
Sounds and Audio Devices
Sounds
...then test each noise
...you will find which event represents the bubble pop, and it may give you a clue as to what's happening when you hear it

Sounds like your pop up ads are being blocked,if you have a pop up blocker
