I am a long time movie fan, but I am lost on this one. Why is everyone always "Firing at Will"? What did Will do? Is he bulletproof or is everyone just that bad of a shot? And he is in many movies so he must be a great actor, but I am not sure who he is. Help!!!!

As a person named, "Will," I have always felt great offense at this term. I have often wondered, "Why can't they say, 'Fire at Bush," or 'Fire at Dick!'

I believe that the choice to use, "Fire at Will," is indicative of elitism in America. You never hear the term, "Fire at Will," in non American films.

The conspiracy continues.........

ha ha ha. you sound like my dad when he was watching a will smith movie. ("don't shoot will smith!") just to correctly answer the question, fire at will means fire at your own will, or fire when you want to.
