Please tell me who is Niagra Falls named after of what is it named after.

It was a Jesuit father, Gabriel Lalemant, who first recorded the Iroquios name for the river- Onguiaahra, meaning "the Strait". "Niagara" is a simplification of the original.
As you see, the word niagra was not a person , but more a descriptive word.
