It could be an abbreviation specific to the pattern you are using, in which case it should be explained somewhere in a list of abbreviations at the beginning of the pattern. The only thing that comes to mind is Make Bobble.

Mb means make bobble, you increase a certain number of stitches out of one work a few rows and then make the certain number of stitches back to one.
