Here comes the wind.
It prances among the trees,
tossing their heads
only to sink to the ground
and root the leaves around.
With a whirling, twirling rush,
it rises to flee like a cat
on soft padded feet.
The still is broken
with a sigh and whisper
as the wind plays among the pine
blowing through the evergreen feathers
A chill it brings
as it blows the windmill around
while it sends dust mice
scurrying over the ground.
