I mean a truly, deep, meaningful, intelligent conversation. Who was it with, and what did you talk about?

Earlier today. Talked with my son about any number of things, including my "theories" about the increase in autism rate.

Yesterday talked with his father about educational issues, social ills, and others things.

I have intelligent conversation, for the most part, whenever I socialize with a friend or my sister, and my kids and I share decent conversation on a regular basis.

My days are full of good conversation that is meangingful, "deep", and thought-provoking. Your question is kind of surprising to me, but more surprising are all the people who don't seem to take the time to talk seriously to others.

This is hard to have in the modern age when most people's attention spans are fragmented and people only want to talk about mindless entertainment or consumption events (i.e. shopping, dining, clothing). Those things are mostly meaningless so it leaves very little to talk about with those people who can only talk about the mundane. That is why intelligent conversations are rare. It requires a rare type of person who desires real communication with others and not just mindless chit chat.

It seems that almost any discussion about reality is cut short by the realization that other people have differing constraints on their ability to imagine what is possible. To make this worse, most deny the potential of open space by filling it with expectations that they feel compelled to serve. Thus we rarely get to talk about what is real or what could be made real, but instead all focus gravitates towards compulsion for the most predictable behavior.

As with everything today, easy repetition and servitude wins out over aspiration.

Today. Talked with my dad about how one of the reasons I want to make a lot of money is to help less fortunate people. It was actually a complicated conversation.

An intelligent conversation cannot occur when the participants are trying to outdo each other by how much they seem to know.

My friend last night. He is one of only about 2 or 3 people with whom I actually have intelligent conversations.
We basically talked about our lives....to sum it up.
