I am creating a petition about animal testing, I just don't know where to start! I know I need to address what pain the animals go through and why it is unethical. But what else should I add? What is a good way to start? Also, who exactly should I send it to in the government?
Please help! The animals lives are in danger!

The best person to send it to is your governor first. You can find these addresses in a local government webpage (I don't know where you live.) You need to address many things, such as that many hospitals and teaching facilities (Harvard even) have started using many other means as a way of testing. A good website to use (I am just recommending this as an information site- peta is caught in animal abuse scandal as well right now) is Peta.org. You can type in your local college, hospital or anything really. The search will usually pull up some heinous act they did on animals. You need to write this in your letter. What they are doing, how they are doing it- and most importantly- is any medical advancement coming from it? A good starting place is the march against dimes. You can petion any fundraiser like like in your community also. The march of dimes does HORRIBLE things to animals and it should not be tolerated!!! I am so glad you are getting out there and being heard!! Every town needs more people like you in it!! Good luck!!!

Contact "People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals" (PETA). They will tell you what to do and who to send it to. I also think animal testing (especially for cosmetics) is cruel. I think there are many people who would volunteer for testing if it might save their lives.
EDIT: nobudE, while PETA may be extreme, they tell the truth and show the cruelty. Why should rabbits have cosmetics sprayed into their eyes? Why should cats be electrocuted, we all know electrocution kills! Animals are not HUMANS, therefore testing on them is "iffy" at best, it doesn't make sense. Other forms of testing such as "In vitro" methods are more reliable and do not require torturing animals.

you should not be testing anything "aesthetic" on animals. I dont think they should die so we can have Botox injections and safe mascara, but if it is thought that cancer can be cured by hooking a monkeys brain up to a car battery there is only one thing to be sure of.....red is positive and black is negative.

what a great idea. rabbits don't use hairspray. dogs don't use lipstick. chimpanzees don't take pills to get ramped up for hot monkey love. it's people, man. we're the ones who are unhappy. testing should be done on us.

Tell them you would prefer humans to be tested rather than animals.

you need specific examples of cruel testing for specific problems and not from PETA. that's all old stock footage. You can't just say "Scientists turture animals for no good reason." you need proof. show me good proof and I'm with you. yell the same old crap at me and you can blow it out your asss.
