We realize now that motivations like greed and power can make us do just about anything, even treat other human beings like animals. I would like to think we've moved past it, but there is still slavery going on in the world today.

It has had a very negative impact on today's society because now most african americans think the world owes them for what happened in the past.

Not trying to be racist, but black people not holding total responsibility for their actions. No offense, but slavery and segregation are over folks! In todays society you can take charge of your life and do anything you want! Stop blaming all your problems on others and do something to fix them!

slavery created todays culture. we are based on the greek ideas of overnment and the were a slave owning culture, followed by the romans which is even more influential. salvery was a part of almost all societies until very recently in human history.
it created our culture and is a major part of all of our history

Slavery is still going on in Africa and Asia....on the scale of millions. So I imagine it has quite an effect.

yes a big impact....they screwed white people over forever having slaves...now we have to be "politically correct" to black people all the time, and they get an excuse to use against white people for anything they want.
