The Dallas mavericks and the phoenix suns are obviously the favoites to win it, but you have to watch out for some come from behind teams. The utah jazz have beaten the phoenix suns in a matchup this year when all of phoenix's starters were playing and i dont think have played dallas yet. Utah has a more experienced coach, and a more rounded-out starting 5 with deron, boozer, okur and kirilenko. Similarly, we should watch for the detroit pistons who are always good. If you remember in 2004, the lakers came out with shaq, bryant, payton, malone and a deep bench. In the end the pistons shocked them in 5 games and this year could be a repeat of that. San Antonio is always a force to be reckoned with anywhere these times. the Washington Wizards are also a team to be reckoned with not because of their stability but because of their instability. You never know when Gilbert Arenas will mad and score 60 points on you. The Chicago Bulls, the Miami heat, The houston Rockets, and the LA lakers are also teams that could make a potential impact. On a final note, the Denver Nuggets could also be an unpleasant surprise if the AI-Melo experiment flourishes.

That guy talking about losing cause of pressure the wizards lost because LeBron put pressure on Arenas. anyways the Spurs are finally beggining to look like the Spurs of old. They certaintly get no pressure in the playoffs and they play better on the road. Honestly DAllas is good but I really think they will mess it up i mean Mavs wouldnt have been in the playoffs if Ginobili didnt go foul Dirk. As of late Mavs have been winning yea but by a margin of 1- 5 against strong and weak teams. Either Mavs or Spurs in the west and Detriot, Washington, or the Heat but doesnt matter cause the West will win again

The Mavs wont win simply because there in the spotlight
they all pick them to win
all favorites lose, Suns a couple years ago, Pistons a couple years ago, the chargers this year in football, the St louis cards a couple of years ago
i pick Pistons VS. Spurs spurs in 6

I say Dallas/Detroit with Dallas taking it all, but watch out for Toronto....they are hot at the right time. Bosh has turned into a power.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Miami back in the finals, but the Mavs are head and shoulders the best team in the best conference.

i think when it comes down to it, steve nash makes all the difference for the suns and with him out there, they will be able to tire out the mavericks in a 7-game series to win the west...and whoever wins the west will win the championship because the eastern conference is completely outclassed by their counterparts
also, i have to say i do feel bad for utah because they are easily the third-best team in basketball but they share a conference with the two best...they are capable of beating phoenix or dallas but not both

I know everyone thinks that the obvious teams in the West are Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, Houston, and maybe L.A. But, there is another team that is constantly overlooked in the vastly over talented Western Conference.
The Utah Jazz - ok, stop laughing for a sec so I can explain.
1. Carlos Boozer - the most (and I do mean most) underrated player (let alone power forward) in the entire league. he is one of the most consistent players in the league (was leading the league in double-doubles before he got injured) with averages of 22 points and almost 12 rebounds. he will be back from his injury in 2 weeks max, with plenty of time to work out any rust before the playoffs start. only Duncan and Nowitzki are his betters (Duncan for experience only and Nowitzki because he is better currently)
2. Deron Williams - how a guy who puts up over 17 points and is the #2 guy in assists in the entire league with 9.3 does not make the all-star game is ludicrous. From teams that will make the playoffs in the West, only Nash and maybe Tony Parker are better than him.
3. Mehmet Okur - a unique center in this league (I think of him as
a poor man's Dirk Nowitzki, but not too poor). his three-point shooting is the perfect compliment to the post-up play of Boozer.
4. Andrei Kirilenko - yes, his numbers are down from the last few years. but, do you know why that is? it's because we finally have some good players around him. the Jazz used to count on this guy to be the leading scorer, rebounder, passer, and best on defense. now, with our much improved roster, he can just concentrate on defense (what he does best), with the help on offense as needed.
5. Paul Millsap - who, you guys are asking? if he was in our starting line-up, he would have been the rookie of the year this year. this guy merely led college in rebounding the last 3 years!!!
oh ya, he went to the same college as Karl Malone.
6. Jerry Sloan - this aging wonder does have it within him to make it back to the NBA Finals. he has built a wonderful team and has them playing the tough, nosy basketball he is famous for. wouldn't it be something if he got is rematch against the Bulls? (especially if Pippen joins them)
Now, there are the good points of the Jazz. The bad is that their bench, while still good, is not as good as Dallas' and San Antonio's back-ups. Also, we are not a great 3 point shooting team (but we don't take many). With this said, however, Utah is 1-1 versus Dallas, 2-1 versus San Antonio, 3-0 against Phoenix, 1-1 versus Houston, 1-1 versus L.A., and 2-0 against Denver.
They can play with anyone, and in my opinion, will make and win the NBA Championship against Detroit (my pick, who the Jazz are 2-0 against).

We all know that everybody will come here and yell out mavs, suns, spurs, rockets. But when play offs come they will have pressure and lose it all to the Wizards, case closed.
