I like films of most genres. I am not a big fan of sports films but I did enjoy "Rocky" so I think that as long as a film is good enough the genre does not matter.
I would not watch a film with animal sex, faeces eating or anything disgusting like that.

None of that moralistic emotional or political crap that the audience is supposed to get some deeper meaning or message out of. Movies are supposed to be entertaining. If I have to think about what's going on, it isn't entertaining. Give me a good action movie, horror movie, goofy romantic comedy (but it must be goofy), or sci-fi/fantasy, and I'm totally happy. I want car chases, fantastic stuntwork, shoot-outs, explosions, gratuitous sex, toilet humor, foul language, and a good soundtrack; preferably all in the same movie. Remember Animal House? Now THAT was a good movie!

I'm not really sure of the genre name, but I really hate movies that are about criminals and have a dark, evil feel to them. Movies like Training Day, The Departed, 8mm, and pretty much any Martin Scorsese film, etc...I hate them! They just make me feel depressed and down on the world.

If you can't tolerate genres....then by definition you don't tolerate film as an art form.
Several of my favourite films are examples of a genre that I don't normally enjoy.
The fact is...a film is good if it has an emotional affect on you...if you wish you had made it...or you like it despite every effort you have made not to!!!
Don't restrict yourself with prejudice!

Romantic comedies because they're always but always the exact same freakin story.
P.S. Robert C, there is no artistic value what so ever in Romantic comedies, it's pure unadulterated crap!

period dramas, war films (because to me they are dull and often last as long as 3 hours), teen comedies and rom coms (typical formula you know what's going to happen, boy meets girl, girl meets boy she is usually with another guy, he tries to win her affections, they eventually fall in love, you know the score) horror (because i am not a fan of blood and gore), trashy porn films

Chickflicks...
I don't like sitting there just watching some people fall in love. I like action in movies and excitement, and danger :)
