During the windy season i still have to ride, but the wind makes her act up and somtimes even buck. She spooks a lot easier too.
Is there anything i can do to calm her down in the wind or in general?

What CJ said is a good idea. I have done it with my aunts horses because they are parelli trained, if you were to do that. Don't bend her head to fast, seeing she probably isn't used to bending that way, and becarful when she turns in the circles. If she doesn't have her footing right she could fall. My aunts horses have been doing that for a few years now, and they know they have done something wrong when that happens, but a few times they have almost fallen because they don't have the right footing.

As to your problem, she sounds like my arab, and actually is the same color, but. He's ok with wind, except when it gets to intense, but what I would try doing is when it's windy take her out, just with a chain over her nose and walk her around. Into the wind, and behind it, so she gets used to it both ways. Walk her for at least 10mins each way. More or less if needed. I have done this with my arab and he doesn't mind so much anymore. Then try throwing a saddle on her, and just walking both ways. If shes good walking end it at that. And make a big deal of her. MAKE SURE YOU TALK TO HER!!! walking or riding. Especially with arabs. And to who ever said it's Not a typical arab thingy, it kinda is. They spook at everything, unless they are used to it like mine is used to most things. Hope it helps!

Arabs are very hyper, as you may know. But I've known some horses that spook at the wind. What you need to do, is work with her on the ground in the wind. Lunge her, brush her, or even just walk her around in the wind. When your riding her in the wind, pat her neck and talk soothingly to her, anything is worth a try. Have you ever heard of Herb Remedies for horses, there are some that calm them down. And listen to their instructor. Check into that, look up these remedies on the internet.
Best Of Luck, if you dont want to try the remedies, you could solve this problem without them, then just keep working with your arab.
GOOD LUCK!

I know a lot of horses that wind will freak out, even very well broke horses. And it is NOT just a TYPICAL ARAB! I think it is a sound overstimulation and it just drives them nuts. They think that predators are coming at them from everywhere. You may want to get some of the videos that John Lyons has for calming a spooky horse, or you may look and see if there is anything like an earplug that may help her with the wind noise. I knew of a show gelding that someone did the earplug thing with, since he would freak out if he heard flags fluttering. And it worked!Good Luck!

One thing I might suggest is to teach her lateral flexion (ask her to bring her head around to your knee on, use both sides) in the round pen, then when she acts up on the trail or in the arena, bring her into that lateral flexion until she calms down (let her turn in circles until she stops turning (which means she is relaxing) and then allow her to have her head back, but don't let her yank it away). Then just reward her but allowing her to just stand still and reward her with affection. This way she will learn that the wind is not going to get her. The great thing about lateral flexion is that it will also prevent her from bucking. It is very good to get her thinking (about herself and not the wind) which is what you want because right now she's reacting not thinking. This is
Hope this helps

try lunging her before you ride her. when she is calm, give her lots of praise & treats, & soon she'll figure out there isn't anything to worry about.
