Hi! I have thirteen one month old baby guppies and I am wondering when I should separate them. Also how do you tell them apart when they are so younge? They seem to be growing great and they are showing colors! Thanks!*

they will all look the same when born. wait till about a couple weeks and then you can tell the sex. I would separate them immediately from the other (older) fish or put a very coarse floating plant at the top for them to hide in. You can also use the small fry containers that go inside your aquarium for baby fish until they are older. They sell them at virtually all pet stores. Good Luck!

till you have a extensive volume of tank area or a marketplace for the fry the excellent subject to do is only flow away them interior the tank. I on no account get rid of fry and that i'm consistently having to furnish guppies away to maintain the inhabitants below administration. in case you have plant life and rocks the fry cover and after slightly the adults do no longer even hardship with them anymore. **

I'm assuming you want to separate them so they don't mate. As soon as you can tell their genders is good and I can usually always tell the females first by seeing their gravid spot.

you shouldn't have to seperate them, they will grow well together. check the anal fin- it will flare out if female. grow straght back in males.
