I've applied to 6 schools for transfer this fall. My current school (Temple Uni) was in a bad area, wasn't challenging enough, and had little community within the student body.
I'm pleased with the schools I've applied to, and know all have a strong graphic design program. I've visited them all as well, but I wanted to know if other people had an inside opinion on the school.

Moore College of Art & Deisgn

UArts is totally awesome for graphic design. And it is a comprehensive program--not a bunch of different classes thrown together--there is a sense of building progression as you advance.

SVA has big rep and brings in big names to teach, but they all do their own thing in the classroom and then they go back to their real design jobs. That's not all bad, but at other schools, being a committed teacher IS the primary real job.

NC State is a great program for graphic design too.

Transferring could cause a delay in graduation because the good schools are often going to ask you to repeat a course or two to fully fit into their program. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but you should be aware it might happen and you should ask rather than assume you'll start at a certain level.
