I once read that religion without science is blind, and science without religion is incomplete. I don't think that you need to believe in one or the other. I happen to believe that the universe was created by God. The notion of Adam and Eve, however, is a little tough for me to swallow (as is many things written in the bible). So I can find it in my belief system to believe that everything was created by God...but man evolved from creatures that were created - initially - by God.

Yes, evolution is entirely real. I do not believe in god, however.
I believe every animal and representative form of life have been in an "Arms Race" to evolve. Remember the saying "Survival of the fittest?" Evolution determines it's own path therefore to say that evolution is impossible would be just ignorant. I don't choose to ignore the evidence, I embrace it and always try to understand it.
A few weeks ago I was watching a BBC documentary about ocean life. It explained Sea Urchins, Underwater Plants, Octopus, Weird fish, all kinds of stuff. It's kind of funny, but if you think about it, those plants have been doing the same routine thing every day for the past 245 million years.
What gets me is when does it stop doing routine and begin living outside the box. This is where I think extraterrestrial help comes into play. (I'm not talking about aliens, just speaking figuratively.)
TO THE LADY WHO ASKED: "If evolution can be "proven" so easily why are there missing links?"
Um, because civilized human life has only been around for 3000-6000 years. Science has only been around for a few hundred. Carbon dating 50-60 years or so. These things take time. You can't expect to have all of the answers at your feet in a matter of years.
SHE ALSO SAID: "If evolution was an actual process, then it would still be going on today."
It does. Through inbreeding. Through cultural exchange. Millions of examples are present everyday, you just choose not to realize that.
@Sophist - Very well said.

If evolution can be "proven" so easily why are there missing links?
The answer is simple. We didn't evolve, and neither did anything else. all life has some common characteristics to another living thing, but that does not mean that one evolved from the other, or that they both evolved from something else.
The differences in skull shapes has to do with the culture and the geographic location of the site it was found at. Just the way that a human being from an african tribe does not have the same skull shape as someone from china.
If evolution was an actual process, then it would still be going on today.

Ok, I believe in evolution too. We did come from a more "ape like" creature as far as I can understand. So my view is god created what he knew would evolve a certain way. So there is no reason not to believe. If relgion doesn't explain it, it is because people at the time didn't know, not because science or religion is wrong. Remember before Columbus proved the world was round some people were burnt at the stake for saying it. Before science descovered earth was not the center of the universe people were killed for saying that. If we better understand how god created, it should raise our faith. So Find answers you believe and always keep faith in god it sounds hard to some people who I think may lack faith but I find it very easy. Best of luck to you finding your answer.

Critics of evolution claim the 'missing link' is proof that evolution is false, pointing to the many gaps in the fossil record. Most fossil intermediates in vertebrate evolution have indeed been found. A clear line of fossils now traces the transition between whales and hoofed mammals, between reptiles and mammals, between dinosaurs and birds, between apes and humans. The fossil evidence of evolution between major forms is compelling.
Believer's in Creationism don't rely on the evidence, but rather debunk the evidence using faulty logic. I've even heard some claim that there's a consipiracy among the paleotologists and anthropoligists.

Pope John Paul II resovled this in a 1992 Time magazine (I think :-S) article. The pope is the right hand man of god and Catholic Church believes that everything he decrees comes straight from God.
Anyway in this article Pope John Paul II believed in evolution. That, yes, God created us, but that Mother Nature (Earth) perfected us so that we would be better suited to survive upon her.
So if you are Catholic, it is quite alright to believ in evolution.
Besides science and religion should not cancel each other out, but work together to bring the picture of life into a clearer focus.

We didn't evolve from monkeys. Evolution never said that we did. Evolution said that monkeys and humans evolved from a common ancestor and that is supported by all of the archaeological evidence.

No we don't come from monkeys, we come from apes. Prior to that we were ground dwelling quadrapeds. If evolution is taken to its logical conclusion, God is unnecessay to the creation of the universe or life. In other words God is an unnecessary complication and should be dismissed.
