lol its a set at Warner Brothers in LA... i know cause i was there. It was a sunny day, but that had it set up as a snowing day in Chicagie.
BTW, if you visit LA, you can do the tour and see that set.

ER is not filmed in the hospital, but it's based to be in a Cook County Hospital in Chicago, which is absolutely horrid.
The waiting time in that particular hospital's ER can be up to 16 hours.

I don't think they taped ER in a real hospital. I think that would be against violation or something?? I personally would NOT want to be at a hospital while they are filming a tv show or a movie.
But yeah, I don't think they were in a real hospital.

They come a couple times a year to film stuff in the city. Whenever you see them outside with a bridge in the background they are right on the Chicago River near NBC Tower. They usually film there at night. When they are up on the rooftop they are near the Merchandise Mart. They used to come more often but I haven't seen them in ages.

ER is filmed in a sound stage in hollywood , not in a real hospital.

Some shots are filmed in Chicago. But yeh. Hollywood can make anything seem real.

i am pretty sure that a real hospital would be far to busy saving real lives to enterain a tv show filmimng there for years.
most tv shows are shot on sets.
