With the bleeding, it sounds more like a kidney stone. UTI involves the kidneys, the bladder and the urethra. You would hurt all the time but not necessarily bleed unless it's severe.
Hope it's not a kidney stone; if it is, get ready to feel like you are giving birth. But it could take longer. Oh yeah, these days they vibrate them in to pieces so they'll pass easier.
You can eat more acidic food to help reduce the recurrence of these stones.
Good luck.

If you do not trust you doctor, find a new one. Why on Earth would you trust the adolescent teen who will Wikepedia your question over your obstetrician? Nitrofurantoin will kill your baby at the dose that your doctor prescribed, so stop taking it. (get the point?) You get blood in the urine if you have a kidney stone. The concern would not be that you have a bladder infection (UTI), rather something called pyelonephritis, which is a kidney infection. Nitrofurantoin is appropriate during pregnancy, take it along with a lot of water. Also, cranberry and other citrus juices acidify the urine, which makes the environment inhospitable to bacteria. Sorry for the joke above.

Pain while urinating when you felt fine before and blood in the urine almost definitely means UTI. In men they're a bit more complicated than in women, and they don't go away as easily with drinking lots of water and such things, so you really should see a doctor! If you drink lots of water it will probably help but it may or may completely remove the infection, you might very well find that the feeling comes back when you resume drinking normal amounts of water.
Though it's not likely it's harmful so if you REALLY don't want to go to the doctor and get antibiotics you may as well try to flush it out with water. Drinking water helps get rid of some of the bacteria which doesn't remove the infection (the bacteria adhere to the walls of the urinary tract), but will give your immune system a better chance of getting rid of it, so theoretically you can eventually make a UTI go away like this if you have a good immune system.
With antibiotics you'll feel better extremely quickly though so I don't see why you'd want to do that!

Yes it sounds like a UTI. Even though some of the pain has gone away you still need to go to your doc and get some antibiotics. It's very possible that there is still some bacteria in your urinary tract and if you go untreated it could travel into your kidneys and result in a kidney infection.
It' real easy to cure. Just make an appt., pee in the cup, and once your results come back from the lab, then they will give you some antibiotics. Easy as pie!=)

The doctor told my mom she had a bladder infection then cllae dit UTI, urinary tract infection, urine comes from the bladder, so it's a bladder infection. The doctor will make you pee in a cup to see if you have bacteria in your bladder. Taking antibiotics will make it go away. If you're only drinking water, the pain may come back after you think it is gone.

It's a reasonable bet you have a little prostatitis. Better to have the doctor's finger up your butt this week than get a whopping infection next. Part of the treatment recommendation may be that you use the thing and clean out the pipes more than married guys are used to.
Do you own firearms? One reason a revolver is better than a wife is that you can trade in a 44 for two 22's, with money left over, and nobody's unhappy.

Blood in the urine is never good, your pain tells you there is tissue damage the blood confirms this. If it is an infection, the bacteria could travel up the urter to the kidney causing an infection there. best to see a doctor, give a urine sample, and confirm the problem

You need to have that checked by a doctor. Blood in the urine is not good, and it could be a number of things, such as UTI, bladder infection, or prostate problems.

Yes it can be a UTI... And when you drink a lot of water it relieves the pain but does not kill the infection!!! I would suggest going to the doctor and getting a antibiotic... UTI's can be very serious if not treated!
