Just moved in a new home. I have a gas washer and dryer then. It seems like they're just not hooked up into the wall. I can figure out how to plug them in, but is there an easy way to hook the rest up so I can use them tonight?

I have never heard of a gas washer... must be real new... the washer should be easy enough... a plug, a drain hose and 2 water lines... one line is hot, one cold... they're marked on the back of the washer where the line connects to the washer... hook up by twisting onto the hose bib in the area. If there is no water hookup in the area, this may not be the laundry area of the room. Put the drain hose in the drain.
If it's a gas dryer and there is no gas valve connection with a shutoff there, there may not be gas for a dryer in the house. You will then need to get a gas tech to come and install a line and a valve in order to use the gas dryer.

Just my preference but I would get a apt w/ a washer/dryer hook up. I have sensitive skin and can only use certain detergents. I live in an apartment with out a hook up and I've gotta take my laundry home to my parents and do it there.

When it comes to gas, better let a licensed plumber handle it. In fact, I think it's the Law. If you mess with gas and your house blows up/burns, your Insurance Company is going to ask who worked on it and if it's not a licensed plumber, they won't pay you a cent.
Better to have another day or two of dirty clothes than play with gas.
Or, just go to the local laundry mat until fixed.
