as a scouser and a red, i must admit its something with the liverpool the city itself, maybe because it derived from ireland so much, pain in the **** even listening to granada praising united all the time and how glorius they are, yet NO club in the world can turn out the passion or determination and magic that we can, the turks have a go but they get it completely wrong lol, LIVERPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

I totally agree mate. There is just something about Liverpool FC in Europe. Look at our poor record in the league of the few seasons, yet we still have nights like: (these are my favourites)
Barca 1-2 Liverpool - beat the reigning European champions
Chelsea, Juventus & of course AC Milan in 2005
Roma 0-2 Liverpool - Michael Owen brace
Liverpool 1-0 Barcelona - Gary Macca penalty
You get the people who say " team living in the past" & "two of those cups were won on penalties". It is pure jealously. Liverpool are the most successful English team to play in The European Cup. Our name is on the trophy five times and that's all that matters.

I guess Man Utd and Chelsea fans, etc, will be disagreeing with you, but even now, when Liverpool are a shadow of the great side they were in the 1980s, it is pretty amazing how they can still "turn it on" and give us nights like this.
However, the job is only half done, let's not count our chickens, and let's hope for one of those Anfield Glory nights in 2 weeks' time.
I wish I could be there, sadly, I think I'll have to make do with the tv, a glass of wine and Andy Gray getting over-excited!

Liverpool are a great club with great tradition. But they haven't won their own league title since 1990. They cannot be considered the top dog in English football, in fact, they've mostly been competing for 4th since that time as well.
As for loaned out to other clubs, you're showing your ignorance slightly. Real Madrid have won the European Cup 9 times and AC Milan 6.

Yes, my friend, - "CHELSKI", - the "RED S**M" - a.k.a. "MAN. U", - "A***NAL", fans, - PLEASE NOTE, - not ONE, - not TWO, - nor THREE, OR FOUR, - there are no FEWER, than FIVE European Cups, - ONE of which is the ORIGINAL, in the Anfield Trophy room. None of YOUR rabbles, will - EVER, - manage to EQUAL that, - unless the "MIGHTY REDS" actually, GIVE UP PLAYING, for EVER! The RECORD BOOKS DON'T LIE, - unlike some, poor, misguided souls, who, - unlike Liverpool's "KOP", - have NEVER witnessed such magic! It won't be LONG, before Benitez's boys, do the "BUSINESS" for the SIXTH time, - TWO YEARS, at the OUTSIDE!

Other English teams will never compare to Liverpool. Why are people bringing up non-english teams in this debate anyway? It's a shame that no one can dispute our European dominance as an English Club. League championships are easy to buy with enough money, but it takes heart and determination to win cups. YNWA!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, come rain or shine i'll always be a red, and sure just like real life we sometimes cause ourselves trouble , but we always will be like a phoenix and rise from the flames, patience is a virtue that most clubs don't have.

Yeah your record is remarkable and the great late Bill Shankley was the first man to congratulate Celtic and big Jock Stein when he became the first British manager to bring the European trophy to our shores, so if we can't win the Champions League then my support goes with Liverpool, I wont say good luck as we're still in there!! slim maybe, but you already proved it can be done...Hail.
