As a teacher, I know that it is hard to sometimes make the right call and get the person who was to blame. However, if a pupil came to politely ask to speak with me a bit later and asked to explain the situation, I would listen and reconsider whether my original judgment was fair. Providing you are mature and calm in the way to approach the teacher, you should at least get a fair hearing. Or you could talk to a different teacher, who can chat to the other one.

Something about this doesn't sound right...do you normally get in trouble and therefore the teacher felt you did it on purpose? Three days of ISS is awful steep for you tripping. I'm an educator and I always used to listen to my kids even if I knew they were wrong. I would try to talk to my teacher privately and if that didn't work I would go to the next level. What about your parents? They are your advocates.

For tripping? Did you knock something over or accidentally hurt someone else (pushing them when you fell) Otherwise...I don't see how unintentionally tripping over someones foot and causing no harm could possibly break school rules, especially to the point of receiving any kind of suspension. Talk to your teacher after school or go to the office and talk to your principle. Politely tell him/her you don't understand why you received ISS. The more polite you are, the better he/she will compromise with you and believe your side of the story.

Go to your principal immediately and explain the situation, have your teacher in there as well, and maybe even your parents to back you up. Thats ridiculous, whats the matter with schools today?
