In december, I purchased something on ebay for a very large sum of money from someone located in the UK through paypal. It had a delayed shipping time for up to 4 months. Just recently, I noticed that his ebay account is not longer active. What can I do? I already filed a dispute with paypal, but it wasnt escalated to a claim, because I was still waiting for the items to arrive, and because it wasnt raised to a claim, I dont know what I can do to get any money back.
Are there any government agencies like interpol or the fbi that can help me? Since he was regestered with ebay and paypal, is there anything that those companies can do?
I would VERY much appreciate ANY advice from any lawyers or anyone that knows someone that can help me. I am only 17 and the paypal and ebay accounts are under my moms name.
I have all of the frauder's information, but I am not sure if it is legitimate. Is there anyway to cross check it with ebay or paypal, since he must have had credit cards or bank acount

CALL the CREDIT CARD company NOW!!
do NOT wait for ebay or PAYPAL to handle this.
CALL NOW!!
then stay off of ebay. it is not a good place for you.
what was your mother thinking to let you do this?
BRIAN,
have you called the CREDIT CARD company yet?
DO IT!!

If you paid with a credit card call that company. Most have insurance for that sort of thing. I have been burned twice on ebay and in that process I contacted Paypal, Ebay, he US Postal Service Postmaster General and filed a claim for mail fraud, the DA in whatever state he is in, (might be same for UK), talk to your embassy people and whatefver else comes to mind. BTW, in both case, my money was recouped thorugh the credit card company, and both sellers were caught and are now serving federal prison time!

What does PayPal advise? Has the sum been paid out? You can notify your credit card that they are not to pay the amount. Tell them that there is a dispute. You can reach the FBI at www.fbi.gov buy your best bet is to work through your credit card Co that is registered with PayPal. Good luck.

I just wanted to chime in that I stopped using ebay because of fraud too--- last year. Someone hijacked mya ccount and began selling digital cameras under my name-- I'm sure they didnt actually HAVE those cameras-- ie, they would be paid, take them oney and run, and it would be uner MY name. I would be resposible for the money and fraud charges.....
Ebay is really crappy about handling fraud claims, and they STILL have NOT closed my account, after more than 8 months of inactivity and repeated requests. It oculd happen to me again, but they dont seem to care.
Just call people in the fraud department and email them relentlessly, then ask to close your account- that will put a freeze on it, at least.....
then NEVER use ebay again!!!!!!!!!

Contact E-bay, by e-mail or letter, as soon a possible.
E-bay has a fraud department that can research your problem. Be careful when buying on E-bay unless you have previously bought from the buyer.
Please tell your mother what happened
so she doesn't get upset about the Paypal card.
This is the address for E-bay:
Ebay Inc.
2145 Hamilton Ave
San Jose, California 95125-5905
Telephone Number for E-bay: 408-376-7400

All PayPal transactions are supposed to be insured and secure.
Are you saying you put a $10,000 charge on your mom's card and she didn't notice it for 4 months?
If that's true, you have bigger problems than being scammed.
Would you like to buy a bridge I have for sale? It's in NY, and you get to keep all the tolls!!

Ebay and Pay-Pal will likely take care of this is you let them know exactly what is going on. These companies both have good reputations and will wish to protect the way people view them. Talk to your state's attorney general and explain the situation to them.

you need to make an commentary on your 'on the industry' products which you will in simple terms deliver to shown addresses. the completed concern sounds slightly fishy to me. I in simple terms at present had to cancel my credit card through fact somebody used my concepts to start up a fraudulent paypal account. So, i comprehend the sensation. in my opinion, i does no longer deliver something to an unconfirmed handle, incredibly if the names do no longer tournament.
