A woman currently holds the PM seat in Germany (Angela Merkel, doign a fine job from what I understand), Jamaica (Portia Simpson-Miller), and numerous others. The UK had a woman PM for some years and the conservatives liked her. Hundreds of other nations have had female rulers. Some of them were truly awful, and some were very, very good.
There's no scientific evidence that men are smarter than women. There has been some /very/ tenuous reports of men doing better in math and science that may be beyond just biased schooling, but very few intelligent people take those seriously. At any rate, it's not about who has higher average intelligence or governing ability. It's about individuals, and there are certainly plenty of women who are smarter than any male reading this question, regardless of what you think the /average/ for the collective 3 000 000 000 females might be. I'm dead certain Condi is smarter than Bush.

tiff21xy got a thumbs up from the blogbaba and Hillary will put an end to Republican neo-con thievery next election. We have 21 Republican Senators and only 12 Democratic Senators up for re-election next time around, so hopefully we will get both a workable majority in the Senate and a woman in the White House.

It is not a scientific fact. There are just more men in power, so the demographics are skewed. But, no, the world is not ready for a woman because men still do not hold women in high regard, which you have proven. Can a woman be President? Sure. Will a woman be President? Probably not.

Of course a woman can be president the question is, are we ready to elect one.
Personally I think if a person is good on the issues, I would vote for them no matter what the sex. It is much more important what the person wants to do as president then the sex of the person running for president.

The right woman would make a great president in 2008, but the Republicans won't have the brains or courage to nominate Condi Rice.
Sad.

Oh, my. I don't know where to start with this one. It's both racist and chauvinistic at the same time.
I need some caffiene to think this on out.
I do believe a woman can be President. Just not the one currently running. Wait, wasn't she President already anyway?

As long as she is over 35, a natural born citizen, and not a felon a woman can be President.
