It can be. For example, riffle right here through the psychology section for compassion-evoking questions and you'll find some real safety-net work happening.

The relative anonymity of the Net can be a great advantage for some. They feel safe(r). A teen like Lily (q.v.) here can reveal painful aspects of herself somehow more easily to the folks who happen through the bb than to those near and close to her in her "real" life.

On the other hand, is the Net safe? Is it a surefire source of wisdom? Hell no! There is no basis on which a troubled youth, or you, or I, can KNOW if a response to their sensitive share on an internet forum is wise or foolish, helpful or just some egotist. The Net is open to all.

false ,i think the net is the great enabler to troubled youth, rather than use help themselves get better ,they are more likley to use it to justify their feelings and re inforce the negatives.
