Everyone knows that colonization was a terrible and godless thing, and that de-colonization was even worse. Could the West re-colonize Africa and parts of the Middle East and implement fair laws, government and infrastructure?

I'm not saying I think that should happen, but do you think it COULD happen? I feel like some of those powerful men are thinking about it.

Entering? Bush's imperialistic foreign policy is the definition thereof. Invading, occupying, setting up the gov't and military bases. Stealing natural resources.

Get in the game---It's what this Neo-con agenda is all about. Except they don't call it that. Their definition is fighting terroism.

For the middle east, oil is the most importantreason for any group to want to colonize it. But Africa is not much gold plenty now and I don't see any reason for any colonization.

Yes to your question but it goes even deeper than that. We are being colonized by the poor of Mexico and Central America, while we in turn re-colonize China with consumer goods.

The world, as Thomas Friedmann says, is flat.

Are you kidding? Its the Middle Eastern nations who are colonizing Europe, and Mexico is colonizing the USA!

No. I see no chance of this happening, mainly because the western countries just aren't interested in doing that.
