People (from other areas)tell me that the south is the least racist region of the US. Reason: racial mix here is about 50% white, 45% black, 5% other. We've pretty much learned to live together.

No! The Cocktail social gathering replaced into first performed in Jacksonville in 1915, and has been held there each game on the grounds that 1933 apart from 1993 & ninety 4 through fact the recent stadium replaced into being outfitted. i'm no longer partial to attempting to alter custom. Tickets are chop up 50/50, Georgia flies so as that they do no longer bear a 6 hour bus holiday, and this methodology gets recruiting exposure in Florida and south Georgia. it ought to look like a drawback the previous 2 a protracted time on the grounds that they have struggled to get a psychological area however the Dawgs nevertheless lead the sequence 40 six-38-2. they have gained in Jacksonville continuously previously, they might do it lower back through fact the only time i desire to work out Georgia enjoying in the Georgia Dome is for the SEC championship.

I have to agree with Glenn. For one thing, you'll find racism, ageism, sexism, you name it anywhere you go. It's an individual thingh not a regional thing. I've seen some of the worse in northern cities. But in most, it's a non-issue because it's so segragated that each race doesn't have the opportunity to be racist. I love Boston but the times I've spent there the only black people I saw where on the field at Fenway or sleeping on the Common. You'll be fine, Asian or otherwise.

Hi its where you move to that's important Georgia, Tennessee, Where ever it just depend on how you do your home work and search for diversity areas. I moved from New York to Charlotte NC. And so I made sure I logged on to Googgled and pick a hotel in the area of my interest drive around areas @ day time then @ nite big heads up. By the way google has maps and crime rates so be very deligent and precise. Call The Chamber of commerce of Georgia they can guide you for areas of diversity.Explain your preferences and do not be afraid to ask for additional information and be open about what you want because that is their job.
My advice to you is never be skeptical about asking questions ....... Id rather be upfront and safe than to be shy and suffering abusive slurs... God bless....you and your family :)

I was born in Georgia 35 years ago and have lived here all my life. (North of Atlanta) I do not consider myself to be racist and do not know anyone that is racist. Frankly, I have a large amount of African-Americans, Mexicans and Asians living in my town and do not see any problems going on. If anything, it seems that they may be racist against whites. I really think you would be fine here. Most of the preconceived notations about southerners are fiction and the result of the way we are portrayed by Hollywood.

That stuff is 30 years ago. The South is still stereotyped by uneducated Northerners as "racist." I ran into more racism in Chicago and Detroit than anyplace in the South. Check out the segregated neighborhoods in Chicago and then tell me racism don't exist up there

Many of the southern states still have racism going on. But then - I'm in California - and even though I'm amazed - I see it here sometimes too.
I think you'll be SAFE - but you might have to deal with ignorance.

It's pretty southern, but I don't think anymore racist than the other states. Besides Fl is a cultural melting pot. Have you thought of moving there instead?
