I am not against Chavez like the American media wants me to be HOWEVER he should not stay.

I believe that the Venezuelans understand the history of Latin America and dictators and will not allow him to become a President for Life by changing the laws of the land to allow him to run again.

No international diplomacy needed. US policies have not worked for Latin American countries (neither IMF nor World Bank) and they are all tired of listening to the US so they arent going to listen anymore - diplomacy from the US will fall on deaf ears.

Step 1. Become an inflammatory and popular leader.
Step 2. Declare a monstrous enemy that everyone can unite against
Step 3. Get special government powers to fight this enemy
Step 4. Make your opinions into laws
Stpe 5. Put an end to term limits and Voila! You're a fascist dictator!

Chavez is on step 4.

Leogirl, you're gonna love my answer

Hugo Chavez is yet another example of how the Bush administration has ignored foreign policy and now dictators are finding out were powerless to stop ALL of them. Their numbers are growing.
Besides Venezuela we have Bolivia, Iran, N. Korea, Syria, and perhaps Pakistan if we're not careful.

All of those countries weren't unmanageable 6 years ago. They're getting out of control right now.

Thanks George!!!

I'm pretty sure he was just re-elected in a somewhat democratic vote. And, I've also heard that his party is in most critical positions of government and, Hugo is attempting to get his term extended until 2020 or something close to that.
