I have a hard drive that is about to crap out. It's 6 or 7 years old now. Error log shows a lot of bad blocks. Is there anything i can do to disable these blocks or just extend the life of this drive?

If you are showing lots of bad blocks then backup your data if you can and get rid of the drive. Hard drives have their won bad block list that they never show up to the system, they are just remapped internally. If this fills up and blocks can no longer be automatically be remapped than you have a problem. The sooner you back up the better.

You can try to fragment the drive, it's not gonna help much though. Get rid of that drive before you lose any important data.

Hold your hard drive with two hands, and please lift the buttocks slightly higher that way there would not be any blockage,no extension needed for the drive just wait till it hardens again.
