im a musician in a metal band myself and i would get so annoyed if i found out that people were illegally downloading my music... why not just spend 8-20 dollars and you get the songs and give money to the people who worked hard making it happen?

I pretty much agree with you...but do i download illegally? yes.

I don't do it that often, it's just usually to listen to a new band to see if I like them or not. If I do like them, then i will def. go out and buy the CD. But if the band sounds like crap, then ill take them off my ipod and be glad that i didn't spend money on them.

I totally know what you mean about not giving money to a band that worked hard for it, but if im only gonna listen to them once, then i don't feel like I should have to pay for it. Especially because I would only download one or two songs, I never dowload a whole CD. But i understand how you would get pissed about people illegally downloading your music. If you come out with a CD, you should tell me and i will def. BUY IT! : )

Sometimes people only want one song and they don't want to have to spend $15+ to get it. And free is better than anything. Though if someone consider themself a real fan of the musician, you would hope that they would buy the music legally.

I guess that if they were to pay for every cd or song they like or don't like then it would cost a lot of money so they download free music instead. But yeah I know where your coming from.

I totally agree, if a person is a huge fan of a band, its only fair to support the band in the way of buying their cd's, i can understand if its one song a person likes about a band though. Paul

i have to say i agree with you but then as everyone else has told you b/c it's FREE. of course when people do this they don't think that they are hurting the musician and the thought that "they already make enough money one simple download won't hurt" always comes to their mind.

I agree with you. The bands that are working their tails off deserve to be paid for their music into society. If the band wants to offer downloads to their music, then that's agreeable but we should be willing to pay for good music.

That's confusing....People are greedy and don't want to spend their hard earned cash on your hard earned credibility. Bands deserve to be paid for their contributions!

I completely agree with you! I spend a lot of money on music, but it is really worth it in my opinion. Illegal downloading is for broke morons with nothing better to do!

cuz it's free...why not i'm not gonna get a whole CD if i only like one or two songs from a band. if there's a band/singer/etc i really like i'll go out and buy their CD to support them.

i'm not guessing you are in a signed band?
i hate to break it to you, but most of the money made from cds goes directly to the record company. bands make almost all of their profit from live shows and tours.
i choose not to support the record company, and to go to a live show.

im a musician as well and i believe that it is about the music and not the money. if you are in it for the money then maybe u should rethink what u are doing... bc ur not gonna get rich in this industry.
