Dill, coriander, cumin and tobacco are all natural insecticides, as is tea tree.

Perhaps you could try making a paste and putting it near where they are coming in to the house, they may learn that they are getting killed off every time they deposit the bodies! Or you may just kill them all off.

Yarrow and garlic are *repellents*, so maybe put some of this in that area too? Stop them coming in to your room at all. I think dill and rosemary are also repellents.

I don't know if that's the sort of thing you're after, but it means you're not using any poisons inside the house.

I use dill, crushed garlic and rosemary by my back door in the summer as they keep coming in to the kitchen. It seems to work.

I think that 'Safetman' has a pretty good answer so far.
Of course, I'm not the one having to walk all over those tiny dead bodies....eeeeeewwww... I'm guessing you don't get to walk around barefoot much huh.
It all sounds really weird that they would be dieing in the massed like you say. Do you ever wonder why? Not 'why is this happening to you' but, why are they doing the dieing in your carpet.
What is it about your carpet that makes them want to either go there to die...or go there and end up dead.
Could it be some kind of organized mass suicide? Hmmm, there are pretty smart little..little....ah....little.....ANTS.
So it really doesn't sound like you need the poison...unless you can 'get them' where they live. And that would be kinda hard to do if you have to crawl under your house and crawl about searching for a hill of ants...an ant hill.
Find out where they are getting through to your room. Are they coming up between the wall and the floor? Do they leave an active little trail to follow backwards so you can see where they are making thier entrance. It might look like they are coming in at one place in the dent of your room (the wall and floor) but you still have to follow them from past that to see if they are just cruising the dent from some distance from the actual point of entry.
Do some detective work. It is now.....You or The Ants. And baby, You are gonna win.
So, when you do find where the little buggers are coming from then you need to put some Boric Acid in a semi circle or what ever..a line in front of thier little door. They will not cross the powder. I swear. I had them going up the legs of my bird cages so I took butter lids and put them under each leg and filled it with the boric acid powder and it stopped. Just like that. Then I went after the kill.....but that's a whole nother story. This ones getting awfully long.
Oh, and the boric acid will not hurt birds so I'm assuming that if it won't hurt a bird that it will not hurt anything else.
I gotta tell you this one....
I found a trail of the little buggers coming into my kitchen and crawling up an electrical cord to the top of our microwave. I put a pile of this stuff at the top and buried the cord in it and while there were some ants still marching away towards the top I put a mound at the bottom and buried the cord there too.
I must have watched them for 5 min. And all they did was go back and forth. I was going to go back after awhile to see if they had gotten tired from doing this .....but my hubby came home and had no idea why all the mess was there and well,,,,there
went my scientific observation of 'the gonna be tired some day, ants.
So, there you have it.
You can buy this stuff at any pharmacy. Just ask them where it is.....they will have it.
Happy hunting!

Great... yeah that will help... put out some poison to even more of them!!!

1. You are really going to annoy them and they will revolt and wage a long and potentially bloody war against you.

2. Assuming they actually think you are their ant goddess, poisoning them will only make them think they have angered you some how and they will step up their sacrifice schedule.

3. They will be so distraught by the loss of their little friends that the suicides will increase...

The end result... MORE LITTLE ANT CORPSES!!!

Just leave the little fellas alone... Look, you were going to have to vacuum that room eventually anyway!!!

Ants become a nuisance when they enter homes. Instead of spending money on costly pest control, you can get rid of ants by removing the food source and using soap water.

Just to annoy you! No, they die in the nest and other ants carry them out... for whatever reason they've chosen that area as their 'burial' ground. I don't know what you can do to change it though, sorry.

if you would like to get rid of them try borax and sugar mix spread it around your house (outside) the borax ( powderd soap) kills them and the sugar makes them bring it to the ant colony so it kills all of them in a little time
