This coucous has onions, chicken, curry powder, carrots, some other spices. What would be good to serve with this... something along the same origin...
I would like to serve some kind of sides... I don't know about serving pita and hummus, or cucumber salad Something like this... Any suggestions?

Yum! Try grilled lamb, or meatballs with a yoghurt/garlic/cucumber dressing. Or maybe a mild curried chicken, with raisins and sweet potatoe. Red pepper hummous and tosted pita ... etc etc
Enjoy!

*Pita and hummus are always great, but as an alternative you could make a dipping oil using olive oil, herbs, garlic, and even some grated parmesan or asiago cheese. Serve with either warm pita or crusty bread.
*You could skip the pita since cousous is a starch already.
*A plate of olives is a very nice starter or accompaniment.
*Tandoori chicken - you can get the tandoori paste or dry packets in many regular grocery stores. Mix this into plain yogurt and marinate the chicken in it per directions. Grill (or bake or broil) the chicken at higher temp and it gets the nice grilled flavor and turns to an almost "hot pink" color. Nice flavor but not too spicy. Very interesting presentation and inexpensive.
*Raisins and/or currants would go nicely in your couscous recipe.
* Major Grey's chutney would be excellent with this. It's a fruit preserve, sweet and very gingery. Can be bought at most any grocery that has an imported section. Nice with either spicy or plain tasting food.
*A cucumber, onion and plain yogurt salad is very nice if you serve anything "spicy". Simple fresh green salad very nice with this too.
*Lentils stewed with onions, diced tomatoes, lemon, and indian spices is good. You could use garam masala spice mix, coriander, or cardamom (careful with this one - hot). Don't forget the salt. You can be a little daring with this and go spicier. It will balance out the flavors and give you something saucy to serve with the cousous. You could skip the indian spices and go with garlic instead for something more "meditteranean."
*A little mango sorbet makes a nice dessert.
Looks like I went more eastern/indian than mediteranean! They make a nice fusion though. Have fun!

My mum makes couscous with mutton and she had lots of vegetable such as cabbage, turnips, zucchini.

You could serve it with Taboule a kind of salad made with semolina tomato, onion and mint leaves, it is very refreshing or perhaps raita it is an India salad, tomato, cucumber, onion, coriander with coconut milk or yaourt.

This helps to cool down the system because of the spices.

Bon appetit....by the way you make me hungry!

Take care
