i am planing to change my hp motherboard. since i cant take out the hp mobo. so i was planning to strip all of the parts of the hp comp and put it into another mobo. the cd/dvd, hdd, cpu and memory.

so i was wondering if i have to reinstall the microsoft xp.

i know hp uses the oem version of xp so can some one please help me on this one

It will be easier on you if you do a fresh install. If you don't you will end up with duplicate drivers installed on the computer that can cause resource conflicts.

You could run a repair, but that takes just as long as a fresh install, and you will see more benefit from a fresh install anyhow.

No you dont have to reinstall anything.

You dont need to do a fresh install either.

No you don't have to do anything. It will work fine after the replacement of your motherboard.

Fresh Install is that you load your operating system after formating your C drive.

if u r changing towers using those parts no u dont but it u r changing hardware yes u haft to reload windows
