I am team captain for the Relay for Life this year and need some fundraiser ideas. Got any? Does anyone have any info where I can order the small bag of chips?

We did a basket raffle.

Groups donate to fill baskets with various themes, chocolate theme, movie theme, beach day theme, getting your drivers license theme, etc.

Tickets sold for $1 each or 6 for $5.

from a website link...
Briefly describe this fundraising event:
Each classroom picks a certain topic they will use for their basket, such as a sports basket or a choclate lover's basket. There are hundreds of ideas. Items get donated.

Organizing the event:
Baskets are numbered. List of items are made. Each kid gets a list and shows family and friends. Kids sell tickets for $1.00 for a chance at the basket of choice.

Capital possibilities:
Our school made $2000 this year. All tickets sold are placed in a ziplock bag with each basket. One ticket from each bag is chosen. The baskets were beautiful.

Degree of difficulty:
Collecting stuff for the baskets. If it's a stationery basket, call your local card supplier to ask for donations. Be creative. Parents from each class puts baskets together.

Other suggestions or comments:
People think this is a great idea. Anyone will give a dollar for a chance at maybe a $200-$300 basket. Sell tickets for at least 4 weeks. We also sold in front of Sam's.

Wrap all baskets in clear wrap, and display them during sports games, conferences, etc.

We made A LOT of money!

I teach middle school - we had 15 baskets made in a small community.

I did the relay for life fundraiser in my area last year. I sell Mary Kay and I gave 100% of the profit to the cause. I also make a basket for raffle. Mary Kay also has a foundation for Cancer research so most consultant are happy to help.
If your interested in finding a consultant in your area go to www.marykay.com

You could look to see if there are other direct sales companies in your area that might join in once one does the other usually follow suit.
Good Luck !!!

Go to the local community service organizations in your area and solicit contributions from the clubs and the individual members of the club. A vast number of any group will have personal experience with cancer or know someone who has had an experience with cancer. These people already understand the concept of giving to a good cause.

My Kiwanis club has served breakfast to the participants in our local Relay For Life walk-a-thon for the last 11 years. All foods have been donated by local businesses.

Good luck in your efforts.

BJ's or Cosco's will have the small bags; but you should contact the store managers first and tell them what you're doing, they may surprise you and offer them as their donation to your cause. As far as fundraisers, there's tons but also on the line of "asking"...contact different businesses in your area and again tell them what you're doing. They may offer their services as a gift, example: a beauty salon may offer a hair service etc., a car wash may offer just that, a candy store, department stores may offer a gift card etc. For each business that you get put their name on a can or jar and sell chances to them. The winner will get a service and you'll have $$$ for your Relay for Life. And what a great cause!!! I wish I knew where you were located. I'd love to attend. God bless you and all who will help you but more importantly those who will be helped.

My football crew is planning to throw a Halloween party/pageant to develop money. yet it really is going to be on Oct. twenty 9th. Bake sales and sweet bag sales continually do truly nicely in my college. extraordinarily once you promote to the learners who are not allowed to depart college for lunch yet.

Try looking for wholesale stores in your area. They have a variety of items (chips included) you can sell.

Good luck w/your efforts and may God bless you in all you do.
