yes, bjorn has the right idea, all u have to do is find out whereever u put all your music and pictures, and then copy and paste them to the new drive. extremely simple. u can find access to the new drive by clicking on 'my computer' and clicking on the drive.

if u do not know which drive is the external, try disconnecting it and looking at my computer, then reconnecting it and looking again. the one that appears there will be your drive.

u just click on the drive and paste all your files there. its very easy. I would suggest getting drives from western digital, or seagate. these are the cheapest and most reliable drives that u could use.

good luck.

Yes but a flash drive is faster if you don't have that much to transfer. I have both so I usually transfer what I can onto an ipod then onto whatever I'm transferring it to. This cuts down huge amounts of time. If the project is really big then I copy and paste the tranfer to an external drive which will take hours. It's best to do huge transfers at the end of the day. That way you don't have to wait forever.

do a COPY n paste, not a CUT n Paste,

but yes, its easy. Buy and external USB drive. depending on how much data/pic u have u may be able to get a thumb drive to fit everything (some hold up to 4-8 Gb) of data!

It is as simple as copying and pasting to the new drive. That is assuming that you can actually boot the laptop up into windows and do a cut and paste.
