i have a 6 month old baby. It was raining and I had to park all the way in the back. when I walked past the parent and toddler spaces I saw a woman just sitting in the car waiting. no car seat in there. so i knocked on the window and told her that it was a parking space for people with kids and she just said :"so"

racyragto: thanks to people like you I take two parking spaces. Had to stand next to my car for 15 minutes before because the other car parked too close to my car and I could not get the car seat in. not much fun with a newborn baby.

There should be a law regarding this & providing penalty thereof to those who violate it like the parking for disabled people.

Does having a child stop your legs from working? Should someone without a child have to walk further and get wetter in the rain because you have a child?

Perhaps if parents walked further their little darlings wouldn't be so bloody obese!

I park in mother and child spaces and I'm proud of it.

Just as an afterthought, the supermarkets should have a 15 mins parking bay next to the door for all the people who dont trail their screaming brats running around the shop. While doing their weekly gossip blocking up the aisles at the same time.

It drives me nuts - whenever I go shopping I can never get one so I have to park using 2 spaces to be able to get my daughter out of the car without denting any doors because my local supermarket have tiny parking spaces and it is impossible to get children in and out of car seats otherwise

Because they are lazy and can't park in a normal space so they need the bigger ones. The older generation are the worst they feel guilty about using the disabled spaces so they use the parent parking!!!!!!

i don't and never would but sometimes it's silly. there's an empty or near empty car park (most of the time) of a small supermarket near me & half the spaces (nearly!) are disabled / parent & child.

think some people are just lazy and don't want to walk far

Carmen, I know the feeling. The retards are so ignorant, stupid, or self-centered so badly, I wonder how they got a job to buy a car with! I see the same thing with handicapped parking. With or without a tag! They park, jump out of their vehicle and walk quite normal, walk briskly, or even run!

Keep the faith, they will pay eventually!

Where I live there is no such thing as parent/toddler parking spaces. I find that interesting. I never park in wheel chair parking.

The same reason why able-bodied people park in the disabled spaces: they're inconsiderate SOBs.

I hate it when I lose control of my shopping cart when I walk by those cars and give them a nasty scratch. It's really too bad when that happens.

At least you get dedicated parking. I ride a motorbike & we are never given any consideration when it comes to parking arrangements. Believe me getting your bike licence is a hell of a lot harder than getting pregnant so why shouldn't I be rewarded with a nice parking spot close to the shops?

If you don't like it why don't you use one of the home delivery services? It's not like you don't have internet access now is it? Instead of sitting here typing questions you could have been using the time productively organising your shopping. Think about it.

Because the spaces are nearer to the shop and they can't be bothered looking for another space or walking the extra distance!
