I mean, why deny them happiness if it doesn't involve you personally? I personally don't care as it has no effect on me.
I say Go for it, gay people!

Your all very welcome. Mabey some day I will run for office. You guys( and girls) rule!
I just think it's SO stupid that gays can't get married. I say why not? I say it should be legal in all the states and Canada!

I for one have admit that I don't understand your love. but it is love. and that is precious. if people learn about your side and how you feel they could better understand. We come from a confused mixed up world were anything strange or unusual are hated because they don't understand. I am not gay, but I have some gay friends who I have asked why are you like that why don't like the opposite sex. Not out of mean I but just want to know. I am also a christain which I been taught that it is wrong. But in the bible it is said not too hate anyone that is different than us. The world have a lot of problems and troubles on top of troubles because we don't what we want to do. and we so confused it not silly. We can't get along with anyone gay, straight,or even ourselves. Maybe one day we will understand and not be so judgmental on our fellow men or women.

Fear and ignorance.

Those against it usually fear that somehow gays getting married will destroy society. They also usually believe that we must allow people to get married with animals, objects, and other stuff. A lot of arguments against gay marriage is related to religion, usually the Bible. I think people are forgetting about separation of church and state here. Using the Bible as a means is NOT part of the state. Also, they tend to want to control everyone's lives, including what they do in their own home.

However, heterosexuality and homosexuality isn't just related to what goes on in the bedroom. Holding hands and kissing for example is usually public. I should also note that I'm not saying all those against gay marriages are like that. People don't fit into neat little boxes and not everyone part of a group is the same way.

Honestly, you know what it is that scares people about the thought of two people of the same sex getting married?
It's the word, MARRIAGE itself.
Civil Unions, as they're also called, sounds better and more accepting to heterosexuals than the word marriage. Think about it, straight couples feel that the word, MARRIAGE means the joining of a man and woman and for gay people to use that term--to them, it seems like a mockery of that union.
It's all in the wording. Don't believe me? Try this little experiment the next time you're at a party. Ask a straight couple, "What do you think about gay marriages?"
Then ask another straight couple, "What do you think about civil unions?" (Hint: you're asking the same question, just wording it differently). Now watch how they respond.

Because christians read in a book that God didn't like gay people, even though he created them. And because this book says its wrong the decide that it is, and so for years gays are afrad to speak out, and now that they finally are because of the past its taking a while for it to become accepted.

I completely agree with your statement. If you don't agree with same sex marriage, then don't marry somebody of the same sex. Why should other people be forced to repress an orientation over which they have no control, because you personally think it's wrong? Perhaps one day in the future, when the christians become the under dogs, somebody will decide that religion is wrong, and church will be banned. Would you think that fair? Why should you be able to force your beleif on others, if others cant force theirs on you?

The end.

while most religions are against gay couples i am involved in one of those religions. however, i do not have a prob w/ these ppl. too me there r men = women and woman=men and this is a sexual prefrence. yet ppl are ok with this. so why can't a man=man and woman=woman this too is a sex prefrence and ppl have a fit. IT'S A SEX PREFRENCE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! i agree with you i too do not care. i feel this way, i didn't make the ppl so im not going to judge the ppl.i'll leave God too do that part since He the one who made the ppl. n if my kids grow up gay i will still love them. i can't speak on my husbands half but i hope he will love them too. he's another who thinks same sex is nasty.

There's no big deal at all. There are those who will bring religion into it but getting married in a church is not necessary as there are many hetero couples who are atheists or agnostics who get married by a government employee and their marriages are just as valid as those who get married in a religious ceremony.

Thanks for being a voice of reason.

reply to dave below my answer..... DONT FREAKIN LOOK IF IT BUGS YOU!!!. remember we have hetro people kissing and holding hands thrown in our face every day. if we can tolerate it so can you if not then i suggest you move to the middle east.

rt1290 i said the middle east because it is common knowlege that they kill gay people there for just being accused of homosexuality. therefore he wouldnt have to look at gay people kissing over there.

i didnt mean because there is a war i ment because of the lack of acceptance there
