In the Godfather for PS2 when the guy says check your map after you take his truck nothing happens, why?

I'm playing that game now. Honestly i just ignore what he says. It's just telling you basically you have discoverd a new racket. Once you click the map you just roll through using the L1 and R1 buttons and the directional pad. You can see who owns what businesses. Need any other tips email me.
