I agree, but I get slammed everytime I put on here that my husban cheated and I forgave him and we have moved on. I just think my vow "for better or worse" is just as important. We are all human and we all make mistakes or use bad judgment.

Because sometimes you dishonor someone accidently, by a careless word or just not thinking something through. Adultery/cheating is a process that can be avoided, so it is an obvious choice that someone makes, whereas other parts of the vows fall in the grey area.
Keep in mind that love is a verb; emotions only carry so far, but to behave lovingly to someone (looking out for their best interest, putting their needs first, etc.) is love, and tends to bring with it the emotional part of it. Choosing to behave in a different way is not called "cheating" but it is breaking a vow. However, it's still not as clear-cut as sharing your body with another person.
I hope that helps...

The vows you take are all intertwined if they cheat they are breaking vows, if you mistreat your spouse breaking the vows,
if you leave because your love one becomes ill breaking vows.
If you list your vows they will say love, honor, cherish, to be faithful and true all the days of your life, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, till death do you part I'm pretty sure that is the
the majority of the vows so and in marriage it is not cheating you are commiting adultery.

if you look at the definition of adulterate it means to water down. as applied to a relationship, particularly a marrital relationship, you can commit adultery against your spouse in any number of ways. sex is the most obvious because it is the outward expression and culmination of the kind of all-encompassing, verb-based, sacrificial love that is intended to be present in a marriage relationship. while sexual infidelity may seem rampant in the world, there are more people out there that adulterate their marital beds with work, family, religious/charitable causes/obligations, tv, etc.
no one is capable of keeping every marriage vow 100% of the time, but the issue of whether it constitutes cheating does lie in the nature and intent of the violation. sometimes we make mistakes. more often we make poor choices. the real issue is how we deal with those mistakes and choices both as individuals and as a couple.
if you're looking for justification for a desire to leave a marriage, you can't find it in this argument. sure, vows are broken, adultery is committed in many unseen/"unimportant" ways, but it happens on both sides, so why bother pointing to the splinter in your spouses eye? anything else is between you and your God (in whatever form you envision, to be pc).

I get a nasty email, or a "thumbs down" everytime I point that fact out on here!!
So many people don't consider that if they did love and honor their partner, maybe their partner wouldn't cheat!!!
But it's part of the way society is now....to play the blame game, and not take responsibility for your actions....

When you cheat not only do you not keep yourself only for him/her you are also dishonoring him/her as well as the marriage, you are not showing love for him/her OR the marriage. By cheating you are breaking ALL of the vows...to cheat is to disrespect the marriage itself...as well as the children created by the marriage.
