my computers windows xp iknow where to get the wordpad but its the spread sheets im after please help

You won't get any, unless you install spreadsheet applications, such Microsoft Excel, or OpenOffice Calc.

Do you have Microsoft Office installed? Its a pack of programs that contains Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet program, as well as about 5 or 6 other similar progams (Word, Powerpoint, and the like.)

right click the start button > look for microsoft excel

If your XL home you have a disc that came with the computer so install that!!
