Ok -my daughter has 2 leo geckos 1 male 1 female .
Female is currently pregnant and she has been bullying her hubby so he has lost weight. I have now separated them and am wondering is there any way to help put his weight back on quickly. At the moment he is very lethargic and his colour has changed - he is darker than usual.
They are fed on live crickets dusted with calcium powder.

Buy some wax worms from the local bait shop. They have a high fat content and will put weight back on your gecko. As long as he's still eating, it should be fine. He could also be shedding his skin. Try to keep him in a quiet place to minimize stress, feed him some waxworms, and hope for a quick recovery and healthy egg-babies.

Good luck! I'm trying to breed russian torts now lol

I got my leo because someone dropped him off at our pet store. When I got him he was very skinny and hadn't been handled at all. The best thing I did for him was to be consistent in feeding him. I gave him as much as he wanted in the beginning and didn't leave spare crickets wandering around in his tank. Then I fed him every other day as much as he wanted until he got used to being fed regularly. Now I feed him two or three crickets every other day. I give him powdered crickets usually, but there are also vitamin supplement powders made especially for leos that may be helpful as well.

Good luck

well the lack of color means he is stressed out, this is because of the change in habitat and what not. make sure you are providing uvb.uva rays to them with a tube bulb for them, keep the temp up, and the humidity high. get some vitamin drops for his water, and add it to the water you mist the tank with. your tactic about adding weight quickly concerns me, you should get him healthy first.
