I am a new graduate with a major in Psychology. I am being offered a job in a testing center. What qualifications should I consider to become a good psychometrician, in as much as this is going to be my first job? You see, classroom education is somehow different when you are actually in the field

As a disabled veteran, I have seen many Dr's and been through a lot of testing. I would say the most important qualification you should have is the ability to listen and to be compassionate. Many Dr's lose their capacity to really listen to patients because they are too busy. Learn as much as you can about the different types of disabilities people suffer with. All we want is to be understood and believed when we tell a Dr how we feel. Try to see each person as an individual and take their case as such. I'm sure that dealing with disabled people has it's difficulties, but living with these disabilities is a daily challenge. Good luck to you. Just always remember to be compassionate & don't lose that.
